How to Create Good Dating Karma

Most people have an idea what karma is. The dictionary gives this defintion:

“the force generated by a person’s actions held in Hinduism and Buddhism to perpetuate transmigration and in its ethical consequences to determine the nature of the person’s next existence”

You don’t have to be religious to believe in karma, you just have to believe that your actions have an impact on those around you. For me, it’s about what a person puts out into the world, through their actions and attitude. Positivity attracts positivity and negativity breeds negativity.

If you’re in the dating doldrums (and we all visit that place at some point), then it might be time to look at what you’re putting out into the dating universe.

Tips for Creating Good Dating Karma

Be Open
Is your dating profile wishlist too specific? Are you opposed to dating redheads because one cheated on you? Do you only date successful-types? Broaden your possibilities and take a chance on a message from someone new.

Follow Instincts
That gut reaction you have, whether positive or negative, is usually right. How many times do you say, after the fact, I knew I shouldn’t have done that after second-guessing you’re feelings.

Take Breaks
Serial dating can take its toll on your energy and focus. Don’t worry about taking down your dating profile for a few weeks; it will give you time for self- growth  and you’ll attract a new crowd when you rejoin.

Focus on You
There’s nothing more attractive than someone who is confident and has passions they make time for. While you’re dating, don’t forget about current interests or hesitate to pursue new ones.

Be Honest
Be straight forward in your profile and when you’re on first dates. We’re all flawed, but revealing your true self, warts and all, deepens our connections. And you’ll find your date will respond by opening up as well.

Let Go
Don’t dwell on past relationships, be forgiving of yourself and others, and move on without regret. Every experience in our lives is part of who we are and there are learning opportunities in every relationship, romantic or otherwise.

Focusing on these behaviors and attitudes will help attract people with a similar positive energy.
