I stumbled upon the Cuddle Party phenomena.
CUDDLE PARTY: a social gathering of adults which encourages consensual physical affection, such as cuddling, massage, and other forms of physical expression, but which forbids overt sexual activity or sexual stimulation.
I couldn’t help but to explore further.
The Internet was full of cuddle groups, communities, videos, and photos. Wikipedia describes a cuddle party as an event designed with the intention of allowing people to experience non-sexual group physical intimacy through cuddling.
So how did these “cuddle puddles” start? Reid Mihalko and Marcia Baczynski, from New York City, founded Cuddle Party in New York on February 29, 2004. Due to its popularity, these self-proclaimed relationship counsellors began a training and certification program in 2005. Now, these gatherings are being held across the globe – United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, England, Sweden, and more.
Cuddle Parties claim that participants will gain clarity and confidence, boundaries and communication skills, comfort, support and encouragement, and the secrets that will help you welcome relaxed, non-sexual touch.
